I frequently remind my friends, clients, and random associates, to laugh. After all we are not living in Bagdad!

That tends to put things in perspective. We are an extremely blessed society, the richest in the world, perhaps the richest in the history of the world. We enjoy freedoms that many gave their lives to protect and assure us such vast opportunity.

The important issues, those that matter are our families well being, our health and our spiritual enrichment. What more could we ask for, I ask, if we are satisfied with these matters.

In the end, business is more then just making money, its about how men or women compete, how they provide for their families, how they feel and experience success, how they develop as leaders, how they live.

But also in the end its only money at risk, its only money we lose, so we can make it, lose it, make it again, and lose it again, its ok. Its the experience that we want, that counts, that never goes away. Its what we learned that matters, its how we acted and what we said and did that is memorable not the cash.

Remember not to take ourselves too seriously. Not to take our disappointments too seriously as it is from failure that we learn the most and doing your best can never be considered a failure.

Remember to laugh. Laugh at our own ineptness, our own blunders, and our miscalculations, our blown projections, overestimated sales, products that failed and advertisements that cost alot and produced nothing.

We have all experienced these issues and we should all remember to laugh about it, as we did our best so whats to cry about. It is sometimes very funny, even if we must remind ourselves it is only money we may be losing and we still remain very blessed.

Laugh, laugh early and laugh often, life and business will be far more fun and enjoyable and yes even a baseball game is 9 innings long with three outs per inning, three strikes per at bat, that’s at least 81 chances to swing the bat. That leaves allot of room to miss and still be successful. In fact the best baseball players in the big leagues bat successfully approximately one out of three times, yet we expect our business actions to be perfect…always correct.

Enjoy yourself, your paying a huge price for the opportunity to be in business and remember many brave courageous men and women have given their lives so we could be as free as we are and can  have the opportunity to experience the incredible opportunity of being in business for ourselves.

Laugh. Its good medicine.
