My book lasts for three months and I look through it, write in it, as well as refer to it, so frequently I know everything in it and were it is...never a problem finding anything, and the basic org format is by date, so its easy to find stuff.
I start the book from both ends, front and back, and put things I consistently refer to in the back, while the daily log is in the front. It works for me. I would not be without my book and my bag.

Ha Ha

It is also called a "European hand bag" or "European baguette".

Do the Europeans know something we don't? They have been carrying these silly things for decades maybe centuries now. I can see the advantages of this personal habit of having these amenities are your finger tips.
But as far as your book goes; it needs an organizational structure or some sort of filing system. It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when George has an "obese" wallet with supposedly everything crammed into there. Eventually the wallet "exploded" because it was out of room for more stuff. Don't let your book ignite or explode because of faulty organizational measures.

Best,
